Hamid al-Ahmar: Al-Qaeda emerges from the Presidential Palace

Sahwa Net- Secretary General of the National Dialogue Preparation Commission Hamid al-Ahmar strongly slammed the ruling party polices in Yemen, calling President Ali Abdullah Saleh to step down. 

 

In an interview with a local TV channel,Suhail, on Tuesday, al-Ahmar described actions recently taken by the ruling party to amend the constitution as "political dementia". "If you have no shame, then do whatever you want" he commented sarcastically.

 

Replying a question about terrorism in Yemen, he said that Al-Qaeda emerges from the Presidential Palace, pointing out that the slain Al-Qaeda leader, Fwaz al-Rabiee, was working in the Presidential Palace before he announced his affiliation to al-Qaeda.

 

 Al-Ahmar defended about the southern issue, saying that it is a expression about dissatisfaction and oppression in South Yemen.     

 

He slammed the ruling party's attempts to carry out constitutional amendments that would allow President Ali Abdullah Saleh to run for office in 2013, the end date of its last term, according to the current constitution.

 

He stressed that the Yemeni people would strongly resist rule succession, calling for allowing people to elect their leaders freely and fairly.
