Sahwa Net- A State Department Source has said that President Ali Abdullah Saleh's signature on the Gulf Cooperation Council power transfer initiative does not seem as an end of Yemen stalemate.
The source told Alsharq Alawsat newspaper that problems would continue in Yemen despite the US's welcome of Saleh departure.
It further said that Saleh intensively attacked the opposition, pointing out that there are suspicions about Saleh's intentions.
Saleh signed the GCC initiative Wednesday to transfer power to his vice president and hold early presidential elections.
Saleh's signature has sparked a nation-wide wave of anger among the anti-regime protesters who have been camping out in the streets of the country for 10 months, demanding the resignation and prosecution of Saleh.
