Alsahwah.net – The Yemeni Human Rights Minister, Huria Mashhour, has said that an independent committee is to be formed soon, pointing out that the committee would investigate crimes committed by forces of the honorary President Ali Abdullah Saleh against peaceful protests that demanded the outset of his regime during the last ten months.
The minister said that a UN team is to visit Yemen to brief on procedures taken by the committee, pointing out the UN Human Rights Council issued recommendations on Yemen and the formation of an independent committee was among their significant points.
Mashhour said that the UN grants no immunity to any person or authority regarding human rights violations, pointing out that the committee would apply international standards.
