Tribal leader: Salehs return would destroy Yemen

In an interview with Al-Ahmar, he voiced his willingness to depart Yemen if that would stop bloodshed and any potential conflicts inside the state.


He affirmed that he has no ambitions to rule Yemen, pointing out that he prefers to be an observer for the rule in Yemen.


He further called the Vice President Abdu Rabu Mansour Hadi to carry his responsibility as the Yemeni constitution authorizes him to run the state.


Al-Ahmar has agreed to a truce with the countrys vice president, Yemens interim ruler, after President Saleh left the state for treatment in Saudi Arabia. It is not clear if Saleh plans to return to Yemen or remain in Saudi Arabia.
