Leader of the Popular Resistance Committees (PRC) that backed the Yemeni army
against al-Qaeda was killed in a traffic accident on Wednesday, one day after
three members of PRC were killed in a
car bombing.

sources said that Mohammad al-Aidros was killed while he was en route to Aden,
pointing out that one of his escorts were killed and seven more were wounded.
Aidros escaped an assassination
attmpet in late September as a bomber exploded himself in Lawdar of Abyan.
Ansar al-Shariah, an al-Qaeda-linked
group, targeted a number of Yemeni military commanders and intelligence
officers, and kidnapped foreigners including a Saudi diplomat and Swiss teacher
from Aden.
