The United Nations Children's Fund
(UNICEF) says that children are increasingly becoming victims of measles as
well as landmines and other unexploded ordinance in Yemen, said deputy UN
spokesperson Eduardo del Buey.
The UNICEF found an increase in
measles outbreak in Yemen with some 180 deaths and over 4,000 cases reported by
the end of March, Xinhua news agency quoted del Buey as saying.
He said UNICEF attributes the
worsening problem as a result of insecurity and breakdown of health care
services following last year's political upheavel in Yemen.
