The EU Foreign Policy
Chief Catherine Ashton has affirmed the "unequivocal support of the
European Union to President Hadi, the National Consensus Government and the
implementation of the GCC initiative."
The European Union has
condemned the attack on the Bulgarian Ambassador in the Yemeni capital Sana'a
on Saturday and reiterated the European bloc's continued support to the Gulf
country's national unity government.
A statement issued by
the office of the EU Foreign Policy Chief Catherine Ashton on Sunday said the
bloc's top diplomat strongly condemned the "attack in Sanaa on 12 May that
injured the Bulgarian Ambassador to Yemen, Boris Genadiev Borisov, and
expresses the sincere solidarity of the European Union."
Although no group has
claimed responsibility for the attack on Borisov so far, Yemeni authorities
blamed the al-Qaeda linked militants active in the country, specially in its
southern regions.
