Yemen to establish international airport in Socotra

Alsahwah.net-Minister of Transportation Waid Bazeeb has stated that the Yemeni government will set up an international airport in the Socotra Island located in the Indian Ocean.

Bazeeb said during a visit to Socotra on Monday that the government is determined to implement all installed projects of the strategic island.

He said that the government seeks to make the Socotra airport an international airport, asserting that a fuel station and a wall of the airport will be set up soon.

He further said the new airport will provide direct flights from and to other states,  reiterating that the airport will lead to revive of tourism in the island. 

Situated 250 miles off the coast of Yemen, Socotra is the largest member of an archipelago of the same name.
