Alsahwhah.net- The Yemeni army is on outskirts of Jaar
after it managed to take control on Al-Jablain and Jabal Lahbosh area, 7
October Ammunition Factory, local sources affirmed.
They said that units of the army
carries out continuous bombardments against stronghold of Ansar Al-Sharia, an
al-Qaeda-linked group in Abyan.
According to the Defense Ministry, six
militants were killed in the clashes on the eastern edge of Zinjibar on Monday.
Jaar, another militant stronghold in
Abyan, is being surrounded from all sides by the army, local sources said.
Yemen's army is pushing an offensive
to uproot al-Qaida-linked militants from their strongholds in the south. The
U.S. is aiding the operations.
Yemeni government troops have retaken
most of a southern provincial capital from al-Qaida fighters.
