Humanitarian suffers exacerbate in Abyan

4/6/2012 -

Alsahwah.net- Humanitarian suffers of civilians in Jaar of Abyan have exacerbated as bloody clashes are ongoing between Ansar Alsharia, an Al-Qaeda-linked group and the Yemeni army.

Hundreds of Jaar residents were displaced to other areas of Jaar as the army seeks to dislodge al-Qaeda militants from the town amid strong resistance of the militants.

Fears of food and medicines shortage increased as the army impose a siege on the city and cut off all roads leading to the town.

Local sources said that mass displacement toward Aden has increased, pointing out that 70 families left Jaar in the past two days.
