Alsahwah.net- At least 23 militants of Ansar Alsharia,
an Al-Qaeda-linked group, were killed in Zinjibar and Al-Kood on Monday night,
a military source said on Tuesday.
According to the army-run 26
September Newspaper, a number of foreigners including Pakistanis and Somalis
were among Al-Qaeda's casualties.
The sources said that on troop was
killed and another was wounded in the confrontations.
The Yemeni army imposed a curfew in
several areas in Abyan province as it intensified its attacks against strongholds
ofAl-Qaida militants,the defense ministry reported on Monday.
It justified its decision as car
bombs are used to target innocent civilians in roads and residential
communities.
