UN Envoy to present report about Yemen to Security Council

Alsahwah.net-UN Envoy to Yemen Jamal Benomar is to present a report about Yemen on July 17 after a two week visit to Yemen, well-informed sources said.  

Benomar who left Sana'a on Saturday will brief the Security Council on development and security updates of Yemen, the sources said.  

In a press conference held on Thursday, Benomar said that the transactional process in Yemen needs four main steps to be carried out , pointing out to creation of a national dialogue conference, a new constitution and holding of a new elections.

He revealed that President Abdu Rabo Mansour will issue a decree of forming a commute for peppering for the national dialogue conference that is set to be held on the up-coming November.

Benomar stressed that all Yemeni parties and factions including the Southern Movement, the Saada-based Houthi group, women and youth must participate in the national dialogue.  

During his repeated visits to Yemen, Benomar could persuade some relatives of Saleh to hand over their positions to newly appointed military heads.
