WJWC report: 442 violations committed against journalists in 2011

Alsahwah.net- Women Journalists Without Chains described 2011 as the worst, affirming that journalists were increasingly targeted, citing that violations included killing, threats, physical beatings, abductions, defamation, arrests, imprisonments prosecutions and confiscation of equipment and cameras.  

WJWC monitored 442 violations against journalists in 2011, pointing out that journalists were also subjected to blackmailing and intimidation.   

WJWC issued this week its annual report that monitored and documented violations against journalists and media practitioners during the last year.
