Alsahwah.net- A senior leader of the Joint Meeting Parties has accused Ahmed Ali Abdullah Saleh, the son of the former president of arming the Saada-based Houthi group, asserting the importance of reconstructing the military promptly.

He further alleged that the former regime uses all its means to carry out sabotage acts in the capital Sana'a, pointing out to the events occurred last Tuesday around the Interior ministry in which 15 persons were killed.

Media outlets reported about intensive contacts between the former president Ali Abdullah Saleh and the leader of the Houthi group Abdul-Malik al-Houthi in the past months.

A leader of the GPC told Alarbiya Net that Saleh called to open a new page with the Houthi group, holding his new foe, the defected general Ali Mohsin responsible for the six wars with the group.

Saleh has recently received Secretary-General of the Shiite Popular Forces Union Mohammad Al-Mutawkil, a politician close to the Houthi group.

Media reports have stated that Saleh family met with the Iranian Ambassador to Sana'a amid orientation of the family to develop cooperation at various levels, indicating that several meetings have been held between one of Saleh's family and the Iranian ambassador.

Media sources have stated that Iran increased its recent activities in Yemen through supporting the rebellious movements and fundamental political individual and forces.

The New York Times Newspaper reported that Iran increased its political outreach and arms shipments to rebels and other political figures in Yemen as part of what American military and intelligence officials say a widening Iranian effort to extend its influence across the greater Middle East.
