Alsahwah.net- A senior leader of the
Joint Meeting Parties has accused Ahmed Ali Abdullah Saleh, the son of the former
president of arming the Saada-based Houthi group, asserting the importance of
reconstructing the military promptly.
He further alleged that
the former regime uses all its means to carry out sabotage acts in the capital
Sana'a, pointing out to the events occurred last Tuesday around the Interior
ministry in which 15 persons were killed.
Media outlets reported
about intensive contacts between the former president Ali Abdullah Saleh and
the leader of the Houthi group Abdul-Malik al-Houthi in the past months.
A leader of the GPC told
Alarbiya Net that Saleh called to open a new page with the Houthi group,
holding his new foe, the defected general Ali Mohsin responsible for the six
wars with the group.
Saleh has recently
received Secretary-General of the Shiite Popular Forces Union Mohammad
Al-Mutawkil, a politician close to the Houthi group.
Media reports have
stated that Saleh family met with the Iranian Ambassador to Sana'a amid
orientation of the family to develop cooperation at various levels, indicating
that several meetings have been held between one of Saleh's family and the
Iranian ambassador.
Media sources have
stated that Iran increased its recent activities in Yemen through supporting
the rebellious movements and fundamental political individual and forces.
The New York Times
Newspaper reported that Iran increased its political outreach and arms
shipments to rebels and other political figures in Yemen as part of what
American military and intelligence officials say a widening Iranian effort to
extend its influence across the greater Middle East.
