The Yemeni government has said that it has not received any proposals or plan from the UN Special Envoy to Yemen Esmail Ould Cheikh Ahmed regarding the solution of Yemen's crisis, political sources told Alsharq al-Awsat newspaper.
The sources affirmed that it is expected that Ouold Cheikh Ahmed will arrive in the Yemeni temporary capital, Aden, during the next few days.
Informed sources told Alsharq Al-Awsat that the Yemeni government is keen to have good relations with the United Nations and its special envoy to Yemen, but it wants to take practical actions against the coup, not to legitimize it.
"Any proposals which will not take into consideration the withdrawal of cities, removal of the militias' weapons, and the approval of the UN Resolutions and applying them on the ground will be totally rejected" they added.
Mana'a al-Matari, a media advisor of the Yemeni Foreign Minister, affirmed that any UN proposal which will touch on powers of President Abdu Rabu Mansour Hadi will be rejected.
He said that the government will positively deal with amendments made by Ould Cheikh if they abide to the terms of references which include the GCC-brokered initiative, the UN Resolutions on Yemen and the outcomes of the National Dialogue Conference.
