Local media sources in Aden have said that the Minister of Finance ordered the local financial authorities in Aden to allocate the monthly salaries of Taiz to be paid to the province's public employees.
Thousands of employees including teachers in the central Yemen province have not been paid for nearly a year and have quit their jobs months ago going in strike that did not even draw attention to their situation.
It is unclear now if there will be a back payment of all overdue salaries or just the salary of the bygone month, October, will be paid.
Taiz bore the brunt of the war between the government and the Houthi-Saleh rebel militias; casualties, infrastructure damage and shelling and siege that persist to this day.
