The commander of the Sixth Military Region Maj. Gen. Ameen al-Wa'ili said that "two years into the war in Yemen, the UN has not taken any step to protect the Yemeni people and is not serious about stopping these [Houthi-Saleh rebel] militias."
In a statement to the London-based daily AL-Sharq al-Awsat, al-Wa'ili said the "UN has failed to implement its resolutions in respect of cracking down on the rebel leaders, which ushers in serious (consequences)."
"It has been learnt the hard way that the Houthi militias keep no covenants in war or peace, respect no agreements or religious morals and pose a concern to the region and the world. Their members work for foreign agendas, not the country's own."
He called on the international community to pressure on the militias directly to forestall their agenda (of dynastical rule.)
