A civilian man was killed and another was injured by a Houthi landmine in Aljawf province in north eastern Yemen.

Local sources said the two men were walking in a pedestrian pathway in al-Motoon district of Aljawf when one unknowingly stepped on the landmine before it blew up killing him and injuring the other, local sources told Al-Mashehad news website.

Government and independent sources say the Iran-aligned rebel fighters planted more than quarter a million landmines in Yemen over the past three years.
