The newly appointed Houthi preachers for the capital's mosques have become a turn-off because of their sectarian rhetoric and inflamed rhetoric. Many mosque goers have to pray at home now, Sana'a sources told Al-Arabi website.
The rebel militants who took control of Sana'a after a brutal campaign of physical eliminations, detentions and forced displacements of their erstwhile allied GPC party have replaced many mosque preachers and appointed clerics loyalist to the extremist group.
The new preachers cite their conquest over the GPC party and control of Sana'a as "a sign of divine support." Sermons largely focus on inciting the worshippers to stay the track of Jihad against the government, "the agents of Christians and Jews" in their language.
