Wethaq Foundation for Civic Orientation has completed the process of de-radicalizing and rehabilitating 40 child soldiers previously recruited as fighters in the Houthis' ranks.
The rehab sets the stage for the children's re-integration into their community and schools.
To celebrate the children's re-normalization and readiness to go back to schools, Wethaq held a ceremony on Saturday attended by representatives of Marib's local government and human rights groups to celebrate their re-normalization and readiness to go back to schools.
As part of a rehab program, King Salman Center for Relief and Humanitarian Aid (KSrelief) sponsors, counselors addressed the children's disorders and behavioral issues and educated the children's parents on the far-reaching dangers of child recruitments into armed conflicts. In a previous phase the counselors rehabilitated 40 children too.
Among the latest group, however, five children from Yemen's traditionally marginalized community of Akhdam.
