Militias of the Houthis and Saleh on Monday assaulted mothers of detainees held by the Houthis and ousted President Ali Abdullah Saleh.
The Association of Detainee Mothers affirmed that mothers of detainees were assaulted while they were carrying out a march in front of the United Nations Mission Office in Sana'a.
The association stated that thousands of detainees have been languishing in custodies of Saleh and the Houthis for approximately two years without any chargers or trials.
It also cited that 70 persons were tortured to death inside private custodies of the Houthis and Saleh.
The association also demanded the UN Envoy to Yemen Esmail Ould Cheikh Ahmed, who is currently visiting Sana'a, to avoid using the detainees as a card in political negotiations, and immediately release them without any condition.
