Washington: STC rebellion benefits only the Houthis

Alsahwa Net- The United States of America (USA) Department of State renewed on Friday its criticism against the separation rebellion in Yemen.

David Schenker, Assistant Secretary of Near Eastern Affairs, said during a press conference that the United Arab Emirates (UAE) supported rebellion in Aden by the Southern Transitional Council (STC), distracts combating efforts against the Iran-backed Houthis who target Saudi territory with missiles.

Schenker indicated that the Houthis obstructs delivery of humanitarian aids and that the Houthis officials profit from the ongoing fighting on the expense of the Yemeni citizens.

He explained that it is only Iran who benefits from this tragedy and hoped that the government of Yemen would reunite again to focus on priorities for Yemen’s stability.

He reaffirmed the US support to Yemen’s unity and legitimacy of president Abd Rabo Mansour Hadi.

He called on the STC to respect the Saudi initiative and to engage immediately in a dialogue with the government to restore order in Aden and keep the focus on confronting the Houthis.

STC continue raids against government officials in Aden

Alsahwa Net- The Southern Transitional Council (STC) militants continued on Saturday security raids against pro-government citizens in two districts of Aden.

In Dar Sa’d district, north Aden, violent clashes erupted on Saturday evening following STC gunmen raid against a house of a government military leader, Mohamed Al-Bawkeri, chief of military staff of the Presential Guard Forces, eyewitnesses said.

This is part of a large-scale security campaign led by the STC against pro-government citizens, military leaders and media activists since they seized control of the city on 10 August 2019.

In Crater district, the STC militants have attacked the Saudi forces stationed nearby the Presidential Palace, south Aden.

Local sources said that STC militants led by Mokhtar Al-Nawbi attacked the Saudi forces that were stationed at the Presidential Palace.

This is the second attack in the last two days. The STC militants carried out similar attack against the Saudi forces following release of the Saudi statement on Yemen last Thursday that expressed Saudi support for the government against any mutiny and demanded the rebels to hand over state offices and military bases to the government.
