NGO: Save lives of diseased detainees

Al-Sahwa Net- The Abductees’ Mothers Association called on the international organization and the United Nations (UN) Special Envoy to Yemen to act urgently to save lives of the political detainees in the Houthis-run prisons.
A number of the detainees in the Houthis-run prisons have been suffering health deterioration due to lack of access to medical care, the organization said.
It said that three detainees were confirmed having liver and kidney diseases. Another detainee was also confirmed suffering angina and low hemoglobin (Hb), according to the organization.
It urged for saving lives of the diseased inmates and that they be returned to their families to have medical care access.
It held the Houthis accountable for safety of all the detainees.
It also called on the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) to visit the Central Prison in Sana’a to pressurize for inmates’ empowerment to normal rights and medical service access.
