Government calls on humanitarian organizations to provide relief to Socotra

Alsahwa Net- Minister of the Local Administration and Chief of the Supreme Relief Committee, Abdulraqib Fateh, called on international humanitarian organizations to provide relief to the cyclone-hit- Socotra governorate.
Socotra is a Yemeni archipelago in the Indian Ocean that was hit by two cyclones during the past month.
Fateh said that the government is following up closely consequences of the tropical storm that hit Socotra.
The government coordinated with the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) and other international relief organizations for sending relief teams to deliver food and medical aids to the cyclone-affected people.
Fateh urged the OCHA to provide urgent help to the affected people through coordination with the local authority of Socotra.
He indicated that the government facilitates all challenges that might obstruct the humanitarian work in Yemen.
He added that efforts must be doubled to mitigate the human and material loss.
