Alsahwa Net- Female relatives to arbitrary disappeared people have called on the Saudi-led coalition to form a fact-finding committee to investigate forcible disappearance of the arbitrary detainees in Aden.
The detainees’ relatives voiced this during a sit-in they held on Sunday’s evening on the main street of Mualla district of Aden, a temporary capital of the legitimate government.
Aden city remains in the grip of armed separatists affiliated to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) that established security militia that operates out the government’s control since 2016.
These UAE-supported separatists have been involved in scores of illegal detentions and arbitrary disappaeraence against citizens suspected of voicing anti-UAE influence in Aden.
Zakrya Qasem is one of the forcibly disappeared people whose family has no information on his fate since two years ago.
Protesters raised placards that demand disclosure of Qasem’s fate and other forcibly disappeared people.
Qasem’s family said in a statement that they will keep looking for information about their son and that both old and new officials have a responsibility towards the arbitrary detainees’ issue.
