Alsahwa Net- Female relatives to arbitrary detainees staged on Tuesday’s morning a sit-in before office of the United Nations (UN) Special Envoy to Yemen in Sana’a demanding inclusion of all abductees in the upcoming release.
The government and the Houthis agreed on Sunday on a new release of prisoners and detainees that is expected to be implemented soon, according to the UN.
The Abductees’ Mothers Association that advocates for rights and freedom of arbitrary detainees said in a statement released on Tuesday that 24 abductees were killed while in detention since the Stockholm agreement was signed in December 2018 due to torture and ban of access to medical care.
The association said that other 134 arbitrary detainees were killed by the Saudi-led airstrikes against detention sites.
It said that it documented forcible disappearance against 64 detainees and 138 abductees who suffer different diseases in prions of Houthis militia and the government’s forces in Marib.
It called on all parties to the conflict to respect their commitments towards release of the detainees who have been suffering for five successive years.
