Alsahwa Net-The Yemen’s Foreign Minister, Mohammed Al-Hadhrami, condemned on Wednesday security escalation by the Southern Transitional Council (STC), an armed separation group based in Aden.
Al-Hadhrami said that hinderance of government departments’ functions, setting up new security checkpoints and mobilizing new military forces represent serious and unjustified escalation.
He said that such acts form an extension of ongoing armed rebellion that the Al-Riyadh agreement sought to end.
Al-Hadhrami reaffirmed necessity of Al-Riyadh agreement implementation and that procrastination and hinderance to implementation by the STC are unacceptable.
He said that Saudi Arabia which sponsored the agreement signing can take strict actions to stop such acts by the STC.
He indicated that acts of hinderance by the STC threaten failure of the Al-Riyadh agreement.
Al-Hadhrami voiced this during his Wednesday’s meeting with ambassadors of Russia, France USA and the UK to Yemen.
He also condemned abuses and crimes committed by the Houthis against civilians in Al-Jawf and Marib within its military escalation against the government-held areas.
He demanded international condemnation against the Houthis’ acts and practices and strict actions by the United Nations (UN) Security Council.
