Alsahwa Net- Militants of the Southern Transitional Council (STC), a separation armed group based in Aden, opened fire on Saturday night at hundreds of citizens who gathered in Crater district to demonstrate against deteriorating living standards and public services in Aden.
Local sources told Alsahwa Net that the STC militia deployed their forces supported by armored vehicles throughout streets of Aden and forced business shops to shut down.
The STC militants imposed a curfew in Crater to fail implementation of the declared demonstration.
The sources said that the STC militants dispersed the gathering and arrested several citizens when attempted to form the assembly.
The Preparatory Committee of the foiled demonstration that planned to lead a public march in Aden on Saturday, said that they intended to protest the worsening health care service and collapsing public service.
The public service and health care access have been deteriorating in Aden following seizure of the city by the STC rebels last August.
The situation led to the emergence of several epidemics including the COVID-19 and other infections.
The STC declared late last April self-rule of south Yemen but failed to respond to improve the public service or contain the spread of epidemics.
