Alsahwa Net-The vehicles have been lining up again at gas stations since Wednesday throughout the capital Sana’a following Houthis’ instruction to managers of the gas stations to suspend sales.
Sources in Sana’a said that the Houthis have created this fuel shortage on purpose to enable sales of the gas according to the black-market rate.
This time, the gas shortage occurs with increasing spread of the coronavirus which will critically worsen the citizens’ suffering.
The Houthis said that the gas shortage happened because the Saudi-led coalition that supports the government seized fuel shipments in the Red Sea and banned the vessels from sailing into the Hodeida port, the main entry point for imported goods into the populous north Yemen.
However, the government denies such accusation and says that the Houthis disappear the fuel to increase its price and use the additional profits to finance their military efforts against the government’s forces.
