YJS documents 66 violations against press freedom

Alsahwa Net-The Yemeni Journalist Syndicate (YJS) said on Sunday that it reported 66 cases of violations targeted journalists, photojournalists and media outlets during the past six months of this year.
The YJS said that it documented two murder cases, 20 cases of abduction and detention, pursuing and harassment.
Other seven cases of violations included assaults against reporters and attacks targeted headquarters of media organizations.
It expressed its deep growing concern to increasing attacks against the press freedom and affirmed that perpetrators must be brought to justice.
It called on the parties to the conflict to abandon targeting journalists and renewed its calls for dropping death sentences that the Houthis ruled against four detained journalists.
It also called on the Houthis and the government to release 20 detained journalists.
