Houthis launch new forcible donation on businesses

Alsahwa Net- Sources in the capital Sana’a said that the Houthis began this week implementation of new forcible donation on private businesses.
The new donation is intended to finance school bag campaign that the Houthis distribute to children of their dead fighters with exclusion of other poor households.
The Houthis-run Zakat authority that collects the forcible donation has already distributed school bags to 35,000 students of families whose members were killed while fighting for the Houthis’ side.
The Houthis allocated YR200 million for the first phase of the campaign.
Director of the Zakat authority, Abu Nashtan said that the collected funds will be allocated only for families that sent their male members to the warfronts.
He said that the Zakat authority will implement in coordination with their affiliated education officials in the upcoming days some programs intended to educate children of the dead militants.
Revenues of the Zakat authority is supposed to be disbursed to poor families, yet the Houthis spend collected funs on their sectarian activities.
Zakat revenues of the first past six months of this year reached YR1.6 billion with 0.6 billion increase compared to the same period of the year before.
