The crimes of Houthi militia in the central Yemen province of Taiz alone qualify them to be designated a terrorist organization, a prominent Yemeni female activist said.
Aswan Shaher, the Program Director at Bilqees TV channel, and chairwoman of Aswan Studies Center for women empowerment, tweeted that the Houthi militia’s six year “strangling siege on Taiz city, the bombing of houses in dozens of villages, and the displacement of their residents, these crimes alone qualify the Houthi militia to be designated a terrorist group.”
“The Houthis have been forcing four million people [in Taiz] to use only mountainous” crumbling road to move into and out of the city. They have deprived the people of even [medical] oxygen cylinders,” she said. “They have also been exercising the hobby of hunting children and women by sniper shooting them in areas that are not a battle zone.”
