The UAE’s Transitional Council militia in south Yemen has smuggled new arms shipments to Iran’s Houthi militia in the north, sources that intercepted some shipments in central Yemen said.
Sources in Yemen’s armed forces in Aldabi valley in Yemen’s central Taiz province published photos of intercepted trucks “carrying ammunition, mortar rounds, and night vision goggles” saying the crew on the convoy confessed to having involved in 29 separate operations of smuggled arms from the UAE-controlled Aden to Houthis.
Senior military officials who defected to the UAE’s side are reportedly cooperating in the constant smuggling of arms shipment to Houthis. Earlier in the day Akhbar Taiz website said the STC managed to send arms shipments including armed drones to the Houthi militia.
Yemenis accuse the UAE and Iran of maintaining a secret coalition to undermine the security of Yemen and beyond.
