The Houthi militia's war, especially the heavy shelling, on Yemen's eastern Marib province has destroyed 28 homes and displaced 261 families in the last couple of days, an authority has said.
The national Executive Unit for the Management of IDPs Camps said in a statement that "over the past two days, the number of displaced families has reached 261" and the indiscriminate nature of the shelling "burned and destroyed 28 houses and killed two civilians including a 75-year-old man and injury of nine civilians including five women and a child."
The 261 displaced families consist of 1827 persons, according to the Unit.
"They fled to Nabaa, a further inward Marib area (85 families), Jabal Murad (55 families), Marib provincial capital (62 families), Aljooba district (42 families) and Harib (17 families)."
The Houthi militia have been fighting against Marib since the beginning of the Yemeni conflict in 2015, with special acceleration of the push to take the city in the beginning of 2020 encouraged by the victory in the neighboring Aljawf, and as of 6 February encouraged by the US indication of its intent on a quick cancellation of their terror designation .
