Two experts working for the Saudi mine action program MASAM were killed on Tuesday by a Houthi landmine in Hodeidah where Yemen's west meets with the Red Sea.
The Saudi program operating in Yemen since 2018 said in a tweet that "Ahmed Al-Dhahiri, leader of Team 25, and Murad Abdusalam Saleh member of Team 25" were killed "while performing their humanitarian mission in Hays" south of Hodeidah.
Houthi landmines have killed and injured thousands of Yemenis and the program alone announced at the beginning of this 2022 that it had dismantled a total of 300 thousand landmines in Yemen until the end of 2021.
