The final statement of Hadramout conference held Saturday in al-Makula has renewed the rejection of any secession projects, stressing that importance of solidarity, unity and consolidation between people of Hadramout.

The conference emphasized the commitment to the federal regions project approved by the National Dialogue Conference concluded in 2013.

In a statement, the conference, thanked the role of the GCC States, particularly Saudi Arabia and United Arab Emirates in supporting Yemen.

It further mentioned that the declaration of Hadramout as a region which includes the governorates of Hadramout, Shabwah, al-Mahrah and Socotra will be approved if the people of Hadramout accepted, indicating that some people want the governorate of Hadramout to be an independent region.
