Al-Qaeda kills soldier in Lahj

Al-Qaeda militants on Saturday killed a Yemeni and wounded eight others in attack on a security checkpoint in Lahj governorate.
Local sources affirmed that the soldier Mohammed Abdullah Omar was killed in the attack, pointing out that eight soldiers were transferred to hospital.
The Yemen government is to prepare a plan to eliminate al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula from the governorate of Abyan.
The government held meetings during the past months with the local authorities in Aden And Abyan, stressing the importance of defeating any al-Qaeda attempts to exist in Abyan governorate.
Prime Minister Ahmed Obaid Bin Daghar had directed ministries and competent authorities to provide any equipment and supplies to security services in order to enhance their performance.
