Islah welcomes International Justice Court's ruling, deems it a victory of humanitarian principles

The Yemeni Islah Party welcomed the International Court of Justice's interim ruling in the case South Africa filed against the Zionist occupation government's genocidal war in Palestine's Gaza.

  • The Deputy Head of the Islah Media Department and party's spokesman Adnan Al-Odayni said in a tweet on X that the party welcomed the ruling, which ordered provisional measures, including for Israel to take all measures to prevent genocidal acts, prevent and punish the direct and public incitement to genocide, and take immediate and effective steps to ensure the provision of humanitarian assistance to civilians in Gaza.

He said that this historic preliminary decision issued upholds the principles of humanity above all else, and lays the foundation for future decisions that hold Israel accountable for the crimes of genocide it commits in Gaza.

He stressed that ceasing the brutal aggression launched by Israel against the Gaza Strip is the only way to protect the Palestinian people from the crimes of genocide that Israel continues to commit.

He urged the speedy proceeding of pleading procedures before the court, to reach the moment when the unprecedented criminality and brutality of the Israeli occupation is curbed, which has so far led to the killing of more than 26 thousand Palestinians, two-thirds of whom are women and children.

The Yemeni Islah Party appreciated the position of the Republic of South Africa, expressing the party's appreciation for the country's efforts and its move to file the lawsuit that resulted in this decision.

It called on the international community to put pressure on the leaders of the Israeli occupation to implement it.
