Islah chief: Would that the legitimacy had a representative in Muscat to implement presidential directives

The head of the Yemeni Islah Party Mr. Muhammad Abdullah Al-Yadoumi said that the legitimacy should have had someone to represent it in the Muscat meeting, to exchange prisoners and kidnapped persons with the Houthi militia.

Al-Yadoumi referred in a post on the (X) platform on Thursday evening to the directives of the Director of Yemen's Presidential Office Dr. Yahya Al-Shuaibi last June 25 issued to emphasize to the negotiating team that they should not conclude any prisoner exchange deal that does not include the release of Muhammad Qahtan or at least stipulate the Houthi disclosure of his fate.

The head of the Islah confirmed that after this directive, a meeting was held in Muscat for the Houthi militia that spoke one language, adding, “We hoped that the legitimacy would have someone to represent it in this meeting.”

Earlier Thursday, the Yemeni Islah Party said it had confirmed information that Professor Muhammad Qahtan, a member of the party’s supreme body, was alive in Houthi jails.

In a post on the (X) platform, the Deputy Head of the Media Department and the official spokesman for the Islah Adnan Al-Odayni held the Houthi militia fully responsible for Qahtan's life, especially after the immoral statements made by some militia leaders.
