Five civilians have reportedly been wounded in the explosion of a Houthi-laid landmine in north Yemen's Hodeidah and Hajjah governorates, local sources.
One landmine left by the terrorist Shiit Houthi militia exploded when farmers unknowingly stepped on it in a farm in Hays area in northwestern Yemen's Hodeidah governorate yesterday injuring two brothers (Ali and Mahyoob Zuhayr) and their female relative Niaamah Salem Zuhayr.
Further to the north in Hajjah governorate, one woman and one child sustained life-threatening injuries in a similar landmine blast.
The S!di- backed Houthi militants fighting a prolonged sectarian war against the Yemeni nation (since 2004) are the only warring party that plants landmines in Yemen and have reportedly laid more than a million mines since the latest war erupted in 2014, turning Yemen into “the most-mined nation since World War II."
