The Famine Early Warning System Network (FEWS NET) expected an increase in the number of people in need of humanitarian aid in Yemen as the economic deterioration continues throughout the country.
The network said in its report issued today, Wednesday, that families in Yemen are still suffering from the long-term effects of the protracted conflict, including very poor macroeconomic conditions.
It indicated that the business environment continues to erode due to the lack of currency in areas under the control of the Houthis, in addition to the decline in the value of the currency and inflation in areas under the control of the internationally recognized government.
