The Local Authority in Dhamar Governorate has issued a strong condemnation of the widespread abductions perpetrated by Houthi militia forces, targeting dozens of citizens including academics, politicians, community leaders, and social figures.
The abductions, reportedly carried out in retaliation for exercising legitimate rights to free expression and celebration of national occasions - notably the September 26th Revolution anniversary - have been deemed a grave threat to social peace and stability in the region.
An official statement expressed profound concern over the militia's raids on residential areas and arbitrary detentions, characterizing these actions as flagrant violations of human rights, constitutional principles, and applicable laws, as well as egregious assaults on public freedoms and citizens' dignity
